Language and technology combined
We are a well-established team specialising in the translation of technical texts from English and Dutch into German. Thanks to over 20 years of professional experience, we possess the necessary expertise to accurately grasp complex specialist content and render it linguistically with precision.
Not only translating technology, but also using it is a matter of course for us. We work with software for the bilingual workplace, such as SDL Trados, memoQ and XTM, as well as with standard document formats, and are always open to new tools.
Standard-compliant working practices (DIN EN ISO 17100)
We only translate from English and Dutch into German, not vice versa. In doing so, we adhere to the native-speaker principle (mother tongue principle). This means that one hundred percent of the generated texts have been created and proofread by a native German speaker.
We also adhere to the dual-review principle internally. No matter how good a translation may be, it is often difficult to see the wood for the trees, and inaccuracies can be overlooked. For this reason, newly produced texts are reviewed by a second pair of fresh eyes for spelling, grammar, content, style and expression.
With this workflow, we meet the procedural requirements of DIN EN ISO 17100 for translation services.
Both editing and proofreading are carried out by a single person. Depending on requirements, the German source text is either checked for errors (pure proofreading) or examined in greater detail (editing).
Post-editing of machine-translated texts (MTPE)
The combination of machine pre-translation and human post-editing, or MTPE (Machine Translation Post-Editing), offers potential cost savings for tighter project budgets, but there is a catch. A standard proofreading service (Light Post-Editing in accordance with ISO 18587) focuses primarily on readability and generally falls short of a human translation in terms of language and style, as well as terminology and technical accuracy.
For business-critical or complex texts, we therefore offer in-depth full post-editing of your AI-translated texts. In this process, we compare the target text thoroughly with the source text to systematically detect deviations in content and specialist terminology before the text is put to final use.
